About Matthew
Dr. Matthew Goodnow, Psy.D specializes in neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults. He has expertise in assessing ADHD, learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc.), autism, anxiety disorders, trauma, mood disorders, and behavioral problems.
Education & Training
Dr. Goodnow received a bachelor's degree from Union College (where he majored in neuroscience) and received a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from William James College (with a concentration in neuropsychology). He completed an APA-accredited internship at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health MA and RI and received post-doctoral training in pediatric neuropsychology at North Shore Medical Center.
Professional Experience
Dr. Goodnow has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, inpatient units, schools, and outpatient clinics. While in graduate school, he completed practicum placements at Beacon Assessment Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the Woburn Public Schools.
Therapeutic Approach
Dr. Goodnow works collaboratively with parents, teachers, therapists, and other specialists and utilizes a strength-based approach in his evaluations. Dr. Goodnow provides targeted recommendations individually-tailored to each client's needs, as he considers this the most important aspect of the evaluation process.
